Rudra Pratap Singh is a former Indian cricketer renowned for his left-arm fast-medium bowling skills across Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I) formats. RP Singh first gained attention during the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2004, where he displayed his talent by taking eight wickets with an impressive average of 24.75. 

His consistent performances in domestic cricket, particularly in the Ranji Trophy for Uttar Pradesh, earned him a place in the Indian ODI side in 200. RP's international debut saw immediate success, including a memorable performance against Sri Lanka where he claimed 4 wickets, earning him the Man of the Match award.

In January 2006, RP Singh made his Test debut against Pakistan in Faisalabad, making an impactful start by taking 5 wickets in the match, which earned him another Man of the Match award. He continued to excel in limited-overs cricket, becoming a key player in India's campaign in the ICC World Twenty20 in 2007, where he emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker with 12 wickets at an average of 12.66.

One of RP Singh's career highlights came during the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 final against Pakistan, where his figures of 4/13 played a crucial role in India's victory. His ability to swing the ball and deliver crucial breakthroughs made him a valuable asset in both ODI and T20I formats. RP's success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) further established his reputation, notably winning the Purple Cap in 2009 as the highest wicket-taker for Deccan Chargers.

Despite intermittent appearances for the Indian team and fluctuations in form, RP Singh remained a prominent figure in domestic cricket. His leadership and bowling skills contributed significantly to Gujarat's title-winning campaign in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during the 2015-16 season. Known for his smooth run-up, nippy pace, and deceptive inswing, RP’s skills in limited-overs cricket made him a formidable opponent.
